Our regular  Thursday walks restart on 1st of May 2025, meeting at the Institute at 2pm.

1st May Heart Of Ipswich

This walk will tell the history of the town centre with its Tudor buildings, Medieval churches, Victorian Architecture, C20th Grade 1 Listed building, and a C17th meeting house amongst many others.

8th May Hidden Corners Of Ipswich

Take a gentle stroll round the centre of Ipswich and, away from the bustle of the main streets, discover the quirky corners and peaceful oases you may have walked past many times without noticing.

15th May Northern Highlights

See two of our historic churches and a fifteenth century Gatehouse. Hear about Robert Ransome, Christchurch Mansion and the brave Ipswich V.C.’s

22nd May Celebrate Charter Hangings

It’s the 25th anniversary of The Charter Hangings, walk through 800yrs of Ipswich history, as we look at some of the vibrant scenes depicted in the embroideries, and finish at St Peter’s By The Waterfront with time to view these artworks.
