Come for a themed walk around Ipswich and finish off with Tea and a cake at the Institute or one of the many cafes in town. 

  • Walks usually start from the Ipswich Institute, at 13 Tower St,  IP1 3BE 
  • and will begin at 1 30pm.

Backwaters of Ipswich 11th October 2024

Explore the town’s hidden ‘backwaters’ away from the main streets. En route we’ll encounter impressive buildings, two of our less known sculptures, and the story behind some street names.

For this walk we will leave the town by the North Gate and climb the hill to our original hospital, before coming down past the barracks and the house of Dykes Alexander, to return to town through the West Gate.
